The Wounded Man

2012

The wounded man
From Wounded Knee
Suffers chronic psychic pain
A victim of his ancestry
His guilt’s played in infinite refrain
Whether innocent or Occident
It matters not to them
His enemies in all countries
His ancestral name condemn
Neither Indian nor American
History’s irony precedes him
Red or white
He must not fight
As bad manners do impede him
Then suffer he must
As his cause is (un)just
His slavery means his freedom
The irony in history
Just sets him up to cheat him
To lift a finger in his own defense
Is everywhere forbidden
As everyone fears anyone
Whose identity is hidden
